Frequently asked questions
Everything about downloads, live previews, licenses and purchases.
Free templates
Are free templates really free for commercial projects?
Almost always, yes. Free templates use open-source licenses such as MIT or GPL, which allow commercial use. Each template page states its license — follow its terms (for example, keeping the copyright notice for MIT).
Do I need an account to download?
No. Click “Download free” and the file downloads from the template’s official source, such as WordPress.org or GitHub.
Who supports free templates?
Their original authors. Report bugs or request features on the author’s repository or support forum — we link to it from every template page.
Live previews
How do WordPress previews work?
We use WordPress Playground, which runs a complete WordPress site in your browser using WebAssembly. The theme and its starter content are installed automatically. Nothing is installed on your computer and the site disappears when you close the tab.
A preview won’t load. What can I do?
WordPress previews can take up to 30 seconds the first time. For other templates, use the “New tab” button to open the author’s demo directly — some demo sites block being shown inside other pages.
Premium templates & payments
How do I receive a premium template after buying?
Right after checkout you’ll see a download link, and you’ll also receive it by email. The download contains the full source files and the license.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Checkout is processed securely by Wix and supports the payment methods enabled for this store, typically major cards and popular wallets.
Can I use a premium template for a client?
Yes. The commercial license covers one end product — a website for yourself or for one client. Buy a license per additional project.
Do you offer refunds?
Because templates are digital downloads, we generally can’t offer refunds once a file has been downloaded. If something is wrong with your purchase, contact us and we’ll make it right.
For creators
How can I get my template listed?
Send it through the Submit a template page. We review every submission and will email you when it’s live or if we have questions.
Does listing cost anything?
No. Listing open-source templates is free, and downloads always go to your official source.
