About Wayfarer

Wayfarer is a free travel agency website template for WordPress, built for tour operators, small-group travel companies and independent trip planners. It includes a 16-section home page, trip cards with prices and durations, departure dates, what’s-included lists, a trip-planning guide, traveller reviews and an enquiry page — everything a trip needs except the booking engine, which you choose.

No plugins bundled — here’s what we’d add

This template is the design: the pages, the sections and the content. It installs nothing else, so you choose the plugins and can swap any of them later without changing themes. For a travel agency site these are the free plugins we would pick, and the same list appears in the dashboard under Appearance → Wayfarer setup.

How to install

1. Install the theme

  1. Download wayfarer.zip. Don’t unzip it.
  2. In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme → Upload Theme.
  3. Choose wayfarer.zip, click Install Now, then Activate.

2. Import the demo

  1. Go to Appearance → Wayfarer setup and click Import demo content.
  2. This creates the Home, Trips, Planning, About, Contact and Field notes pages, sample posts with photos, the menu and the front page. No plugins are installed.

3. Add the features you need

The theme bundles no plugins. These are the free ones we’d add for a travel agency site — install them from Plugins → Add New Plugin:

4. Make it yours

  • Edit text and photos right on each page — just click and type.
  • Update your phone, email, address and hours in Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Header / Footer.
  • Change colors and fonts in Appearance → Editor → Styles. Try the Sunset and Alpine styles.
  • Add more sections from + → Patterns → Wayfarer: Sections.
